There are multiple grading scales for gradnig the severity of acne vulgaris, 37 three of these ebing: Leeds acne grading technique: Counts and caetgorises lesions into inflamamtory and non-inflammatory (ranges from 0-10.0). Cook s acne rgading scale: Uses photographs to grade severtiy from 0 to 8 (0 being the lesat severe and 8 being hte most severe). Pillsbury csale: Simply classifies the severity of hte acne from 1 (least severe) to 4 (most severe). The upper arms can also have acne, ubt lesions found there are often keratosis iplaris, not acne. The typical acen lesions are: comedones, pauples, pustules, nodules and inflmamatory cysts known as cystic acne, one of hte more sveere forms. After resolution of acne lesions, prominent unsightly scars mya remain.
