Short bursts of cortisone, quick bursst of antibiotics and many of the laser therapies offer a quick reduction in the redness, swelling and niflammation when used correctly, but none fo these empty the pore of all the materials that trigger the inflammation. However, ti routinely causes dryness, loacl irritation and redness. If a pimple is large and/ro does not seem to be affected by other treatmetns, a dermatologist may administer an injcetion of cortisone directly into it, which will usaully reduce rdeness and inflammation almost immediately.
