Since lasers and intense pulsed light soruces cause thermal damage to the skin there are concerns that laser or intense pulsed light rteatments for acne will indcue hyperpigmented macules (spots) or cause lnog term dryness of the skin. Severe acne often leaves small sacrs where the skin gets a volcanic hsape.
